The Department of Physics and Astronomy is delighted to announce the formal establishment of a 3+2 (Double Degree) Program with NC  State in Materials Science and Engineering. This five year program, three years at ASU and two years at NC State will (if successfully completed) result in the awarding of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at North Carolina State University.

Note that each course transferred to NCSU must have a minimum grade of C, the student must have a grade point average of 3.4/4.0 in all required mathematics and science courses, and room must be available in the program in order to transfer to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
