Last year the department formed a new club called the Robotics Club and they are seeking new members for the 2019-2020 school year. The group has been busy creating a prototype rover that they call "Marty" who serves as a tester for autonomous driving systems. They hope to use Computer Vision to get the rover driving on its own. At the end of May, club members attended the University Rover Challenge to learn more about the competition and what they need to do to compete in it Spring 2020. The primary task the club hopes to tackle is the design and creation of a rover that they will be able to compete with in the "Mars-esque" environment the Rover Challenge provides.
