Welcome to PhysTEC at Appalachian!
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Appalachian is dedicated to training and inspiring the next generation of high school physics teachers. Through a grant from the Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC), the department is working closely with a master high school physics teacher as our Teacher-in-Residence (TIR), a key component of successful teacher preparation programs. The TIR recruits and mentors physics secondary education students. In collaboration with the Deans’ offices in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Reich College of Education, the Department of Physics and Astronomy is proud to be a PhysTEC supported site.
