Dr. James (Jim) Sherman, Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, serves as Senior Research Scientist at Appalachian Atmospheric Interdisciplinary Research Facility (AppalAIR), where he manages NOAA and NASA atmospheric monitoring sites. He and his research students study the effects of atmospheric aerosols (haze, smoke, dust) on southeastern U.S. regional climate change.
