Mariah Birchard, an undergraduate student working with David Sitar, has just been awarded "Best Undergraduate Student Paper" from the Spring NCS-AAPT meeting. The title of their paper was "The Sun in a Flash: A Quick and Easy Solar Imaging Lab,” which highlighted some of their work with solar imaging and how to integrate it into an astronomy lab. Mariah gets a check for $100 and they both get our congratulations!
