A copper sheet and comb, ring and broken ring are swung through a large electromagnet. PVC analogs are provided to show that the materiel must conduct. A smaller version that allows both the slotted paddle and solid paddle to swing at the same time is available as: Eddy currents in pendulum (classroom).
